Our most popular fishing season in the Chesapeake Bay starts in the summer and continues throughout the late fall. The Striped bass are here for the taking and we know where to find them. Choose from early morning or early afternoon 6 hour charters and prepare your group for an unforgettable experience. During this Chesapeake Bay striped bass season angles can keep 2 fish each starting at 19 inches.

Maryland Rockfish Charters

As we pass through the beautiful Bodkin River and enter the Chesapeake Bay fishing grounds our guests take in some rays and enjoy the scenery. On colder days some guests warm up in the wheelhouse and take time to talk with the captain.

Experienced in the fishing industry, Captain Joe has been hunting rockfish in the Chesapeake Bay his entire life. When it comes to the big boats and big fish he has won and placed in major stripped bass tournaments and has a reputation for fishing success. Both Captain Joe and his first mate are USCG licensed captains and Maryland licensed fishing guides with an experience in striped bass fishing. The Chesapeake Bay is loaded with ideal fishing grounds and Captain Joe knows where to find them.

Call them what you like, rockfish, striped bass, or striper. These prized fish of the Chesapeake Bay are great to eat and fun to catch. During the summer and fall months, we will use a variety of fishing methods but live lining with live spot using the spinning rods is the most common way to hook up. Just because we are fishing for striped bass, this does not mean that other species will hop on the line. From blue fish to Spanish mackerel to the occasional ray it keeps you on your feet. Serious anglers to first-time families are welcomed onboard to learn new fishing techniques and practice their skills.

We have plenty of room on our fishing charters for coolers filled with snacks and drinks and can accommodate up to 29 guests. Summer and Fall fishing on Marylands Chesapeake Bay is almost year-round and but these two seasons take the cake when it is time to target multiple species while on the hunt for rockfish.

Whatever you catch, our mate will carefully clean and package on the dock for your trip home. Mates work solely for tips and appreciate our thanks for hard work.

ROCKFISH CHARTERS

Captain Joe’s 46ft fiberglass deadrise takes groups of anglers from its home port in Pasadena Maryland to the hottest fishing destinations on the Chesapeake. The Locator charter boat fishes the mid-Chesapeake Bay areas from Baltimore, Rock Hall north to Annapolis, and points south. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge areas are within a short 30-minute ride and are some of the best fishing areas on the Chesapeake Bay.
